We believe the most powerful films begin with something human. Our work explores culture, identity, relationships, community and the experiences that connect us.
Led by filmmakers Tevin Foster and Jamal Smart, Hazy Sun is building a home for original ideas and films we believe deserve to exist.

We develop ideas from their earliest spark toward the screen, building a growing body of work with a clear creative voice.

Tevin Foster
Partner / Filmmaker
A Jamaican-born filmmaker, photographer and cinematographer based on Long Island, Tevin creates work shaped by culture, community and connection.
His films include Long Island’s Forgotten Heroes and Race vs Culture: The Black Experience. His practice brings an eye for photography to stories grounded in human experience.
Jamal Smart
Partner / Filmmaker
Jamal is the filmmaker behind Behind the Joy, a film exploring postpartum depression.
At Hazy Sun, he and Tevin are building a shared slate of original films, including their collaboration on Before the Joy, exploring the male perspective on pregnancy, postpartum and fatherhood.
