Long Island’s
Forgotten Heroes
The film
Their service.
Their stories.
Our responsibility.
Long Island’s Forgotten Heroes raises awareness of veteran homelessness and the need for greater access to housing, resources and support for those who have served.
Hazy Sun Production followed Matthew Simoni and his partner, Jade Pinto, as they met with other veterans and invited them to share their stories. Their conversations bring individual experiences into focus and ask audiences to see the people behind an issue too often overlooked.
Returning to civilian life after the harsh realities of combat and war can require time, understanding and sustained support. The film calls for greater attention to the help and resources veterans may need to rebuild stability and find their footing beyond service.
The documentary remains available for private screenings and opportunities to spread awareness, encourage conversation and bring more attention to veterans experiencing homelessness.
